International scientific journal «Modern Information Technologies and IT-Education» (ISSN 2411-1473) publishes works devoted to the development of new information technologies, the study of the theoretical foundations of computer science, as well as innovative solutions and standards in the field of training highly qualified scientific personnel for the field of IT needs. The journal is intended to integrate the efforts of the academic community and experts of different countries with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of research activities in the field of key technologies of the digital economy and its applications, and working out innovative models of technology development of digital skills for the digital economy.

In 29.05.2017 scientific journal «Modern Information Technologies and IT-Education» was listed among the leading referred to scientific journals and publications defined by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, recommended for publication of major scientific results of doctor and candidate dissertations in the following groups of professions: Physical and Mathematical Science; Informatics, Computer Science and Management; Pedagogical Science.

The journal is published under programme of the Federal Educational-Methodical Association in higher education for the enlarged group of specialties and areas of training 02.00.00 «Computer and Information Sciences».

International scientific journal «Modern Information Technologies and IT-Education» is included in the Russian Science Citation Index and  full-text versions  are  placed on the site of the Scientific Electronic Library eLIBRARY.RU. The journal issue is timed to the beginning of the conference. Information about the journal «Modern Information Technologies and IT-Education» with access to electronic versions of articles and citation indexes is available on the website eLIBRARY.RU integrated with RISC.

Focus and scope of Journal:

International Scientific Journal «Modern Information Technologies and IT-Education» is published at the initiative of the scientific Laboratory of Open Information Technologies of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Lomonosov Moscow State University. Since 2005 the Laboratory of Open Information Technologies of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Lomonosov Moscow State University is the institutor of the annual International Scientific-Practical Conference «Modern Information Technologies and IT-education» - one of Russia's largest scientific forums dedicated to the development of new information technologies, the study of the theoretical foundations of computer science, as well as innovative solutions and standards in the field of training highly professional and scientific personnel for IT and its applications. The Conference contributed significantly to the advancement of the new educational direction «Information Technology» which was created in 2002 upon an initiative of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Moscow State University. Later this educational direction was named as «The fundamental informatics and information technologies».

The main objectives of the Laboratory of Open Information Technologies of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Lomonosov Moscow State University are: performance of research and design works in the field of convergent cognitive-information, telecommunication and educational technologies aimed at creating a modern base of scientific support for the educational process and improvement of the scientific, technical and professional training of students, the development of new training courses, training and practical works, alignment workshops, academic programmes and technologies for the professional training of students in relevant scientific and technical areas in the fields of development, production and application of information technologies in science, technology and economics.

Since 2016 the Publisher of the International scientific journal «Modern Information Technologies and IT-Education» is the Fund for Promotion of Internet media, IT-education, human development «League Internet Media».
