About
Ukrainian Arbitration Association and UBA Students’ League invite Ukrainian and foreign students and young lawyers to participate in the 2nd Arbitration School, which will be held in Kiev on 7-11 May 2014 at the offices of leading Ukrainian and international law firms. Arbitration School is open to 4th and 5th year Ukrainian and foreign students, students of the Master’s program, as well as postgraduates, teachers and young practitioners; the School is free for all participants. Number of participants is limited to 30.

The intensive five-day program will encompass general and specialised courses in arbitration. Training will be provided in the form of lectures, interactive workshops, mock case and visit to the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. School’s lecturers and speakers will include foreign and Ukrainian experts in the field of international arbitration. The working language is English.

Registration for the program begins on 29 January 2014. Applicants should send their resume and the essay in English (up to 1000 words) “The Future of alternative resolution of international disputes” to the following e-mails: students@arbitration.kiev.ua and arbitration_school@ligauba.org.ua with the subject: «Arbitration School 2014″.

“For the development of international arbitration in Ukraine first of all it is necessary to help young professionals interested in arbitration, and willing to gain knowledge, to get access to information and expertise of people who are already doing arbitration. That is why last year the Ukrainian Arbitration Association launched the annual Arbitration School. This year program will be even more interactive and interesting,”- says the UAA President Tatiana Slipachuk.

The UBA Students’ League Chairman Anna Gluschenko said: “I would admit that the project is quite unique. The opportunity to take part in an international event in Ukraine, to get extremely practical and applicable knowledge from the leading professionals and to share experience with the colleagues from abroad is quite attractive. The Ukrainian Bar Association Students’ League is willing to obtain such an amazing experience of organizing the event with the leading arbitration organization of Ukraine. It is a great chance for us to establish international communication with foreign students and to create basis for the future cooperation. We are sure that the project has a strong background to be successful and will fulfil all of the expectations both of participants and organizers. “

This year coordinators of the School Olena Perepelynska and Yaroslav Petrov (UAA Board Member and Secretary General, respectively) noted: «joint organization of the 2nd Arbitration School together with the UBA Students’ League is quite logical. The School is not only experienced lecturers, whom the UAA may invite. It is also participants, for whom the School is actually organized. We hope that cooperation with the UBA Students’ League will allow more students interested in arbitration to participate in the 2nd Arbitration School”.
