On behalf of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service let me welcome you in the capital of Russia!

Rosfinmonitoring is a federal body of executive authority  responsible for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT), developing and implementing state policies and regulatory/legal frameworks in this area; coordinating relevant activities of other federal executive bodies.

Representing the Russian Federation our Service is involved in the work of the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG), the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures (MONEYVAL), the Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG), the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units and the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS member-states.

Along with the challenges posed by the international community and the Russian Federation in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing, Rosfinmonitoring focuses on personnel training for financial intelligence units of Russia and the countries participated in the work of international organizations. Memorandum of understanding between a network AML/CFT Institute and the Association of BRICS Business Schools that was signed in February 2015 in Paris promotes, in particular, cooperation and collaboration between the Parties in the field of personnel training, research and strengthening educational ties. This area of our activity is now rapidly developing, because only highly skilled personnel will be able to meet the requirements of a fast changing environment.

I would like to stress that the current international research and practice conference of the network AML/CFT Institute and the Association of BRICS Business Schools is held in Russia for the first time, and we are very pleased to host such a representative delegations. I believe that all of the tasks assigned to a present forum will be carried out. I wish the participants fruitful work!
