About conference

Foreign professional training is one of the main components of the educational process in the system of ongoing education. Specialists trained by educational institutions tend to work for international companies where foreign language communication is an integral part of their professional activities. Ability to solve professional tasks quickly, in a quality manner under the conditions of force majeure, taking into consideration the specific features of clients and partners, communicating appropriately in foreign language, is an essential factor for the specialist's demand under the conditions of harsh market laws and high competition. At the same time, it is necessary to understand that today's schoolchildren, 9-11 grades school-leaver, as a rule, starts to perform their job functions within the framework of competences mastered only in 5-7 years. In the rapidly changing business space, this leads to a catastrophic deepening of the gap between the employer's requests and the results of mastering the specialty, as well as to the growth of dissatisfaction and social exclusion among young professionals.

Thus, the timeliness of 1^st International Research and Practice On-line Conference “Special aspects of foreign language training of competitive specialists in ongoing education system”is dictated on the one hand by the tendency to give an international character to scientific knowledge, to expand professional interaction with foreign and Russian companies, on the other hand, to emphasize the importance of improving the quality of foreign language training at all levels of the ongoing professional education system, including formal, non-formal and informal education.

Taking into account the specific aspects and interrelationships of the system levels determines a whole new approach to the foreign language training of water transport specialists.
