The international conference "Musical life in the centers and regions: dialectics of interrelation" - section of young scientists
The St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in collaboration with the International Musicological Society (IMS) Regional Association for Eastern Slavic Countries (ESCRA), organize the International scientific conference “Musical life in the centers and regions: dialectics of interrelation”.
The conference will be held in the context of a scientific and educational part of an extensive festival project – “The XVIII International Week of Conservatories” on October 22–23. The project programs will present fourteen Higher Schools of Music from eleven countries of the world. The conferees will have an opportunity to visit various concerts of the Festival and see the best stages of St. Petersburg, among which the Big Philharmonic Hall, where the first concert of the Festival will take place on October 21. The Concert hall of the Mariinsky Theater will be the site of the closing ceremony on October 28.
The Conference includes a number of seminars entitled "Musical Performance and Science: New Forms of Integration". Participation is open to students, graduate students and assistants-trainees from Russian and foreign universities of arts.
Thematic angles of the Conference involve discussions of highly relevant issues of musical modernity, attraction of past historical experience is also allowed. With all the versatility of the issue, the main focus of research and reflection is aimed to identificate original forms of the music, artistic, performing, exploratory, educational and other projects, existing in major centres of multiple cultural regions (without any geographical restrictions). To face the actual state of affairs and to plan the prospects for interaction among the cultural centers and regions in dialectics of development of musical art – that is the primary mission, which the forum sets for its participants.
To participate in the session of young scientists it is necessary to send the application and theses of your report from July 1 to September 7, 2018 (incl.). All of the documents should be sent only by the system of electronic registration means. The application process is carried out on the scientific and educational portal Lomonosov (https://lomonosov-msu.ru/eng/event/5096/). The applications sent by post or e-mail will not be considered.
The standards of reports' theses:
1. Only the text of theses is inserted into a window of addition of theses. There is no need for specifying any personal information. The data is already automatically created from your application.
2. Volume of theses: 2 pages, Times New Roman font, size 12, line spacing 1,5.
3. The list of the used literature is typed in alphabetical order by last name of author: Russian literature first, then foreign literature and websites.
Attention! Do not number the items when uploading theses through the system for automatic prototyping. The system does it automatically after saving the theses. Transition to a new point of the list is made by pressing of Enter.
4. If required you may use a function of images attachment. All of the images should be uploaded in jpg and png formats after inserting the text.
Speaking time: 15 minutes for presentation, 5 minutes for discussion.
Languages – English, Russian.
The organizing committee reserves the right to select competitive reports.
The section of young scientists provides a format of participation as the audience. For this purpose you should register on the scientific and educational portal Lomonosov (lomonosov-msu.ru). The registration period is scheduled from September 8 to October 10.

No admission fee is required to participate in the Conference. Travel and accomodation expenses are under responsibility of the contributing Party; accomodation in a dormitory of the Conservatory can also be considered.
