Основная цель мероприятия – развитие российского корееведения и расширение связей корееведов России с учеными Европы, Азии и Северной Америки, пропаганда достижений отечественных исследований в области востоковедения и привлечение молодых специалистов к международному обмену и сотрудничеству.

На конференции предполагается рассмотреть широкий спектр актуальных корееведческих дисциплин: политика, экономика, история, филология, культура.

– докладчики подают заявки по официальной электронной почте Международного центра корееведения МГУ
(icfks-msu@yandex.ru), организаторы оставляют за собой право отбора материалов для выступлений на конференции (после получения всех заявок будет сформирована Отборочная комиссия);

– слушатели, не выступающие с докладом, также могут зарегистрироваться на мероприятие по указанной электронной почте;

– ответственные за прием заявок: члены оргкомитета И.Л. Касаткина и К.В. Хазизова.

 – в работе конференции могут принять участие не только представители вузовской науки, но и молодые корееведы, работающие в государственных и частных структурах, другие специалисты, занятые в корееведении;

– возраст участников (докладчиков) – до 35 лет. 

По итогам конференции возможна публикация отдельных докладов в виде статей в очередном выпуске «Вестника российского корееведения». Публикация тезисов не предполагается.

5^th Conference of Young Scholars on Korean Studies

dedicated to 100^th anniversary of Professor Mikhail N. Pak

Dear colleagues,

International Center for Korean Studies of Moscow State University invites you to attend its 5^th Conference of Young Scholars on Korean Studies, dedicated to 100^th anniversary of Professor Mikhail N. Pak in Moscow, Russia, on April 19–20, 2018. The Conference will be hosted by Institute of Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University, with the financial support of the Korea Foundation.

The conference will cover a wide range of topics on Korean Studies in the following subject areas: Political Studies, Economy, History, Philology, and Culture. The conference aims to give graduate students in all Korea-related fields an opportunity to present their research, share academic interests, and strengthen ties with other junior scholars.

Eligible Applicants: MA students, PhD students, and post-docs who have received their PhD in late 2016–2018, from Russia, CIS countries, Europe, and Republic of Korea. The conference is open not only to representatives of universities, but also to the young scholars, working in public and private sector, and other specialists involved in the Korean studies. Age – under 35.

Languages: Russian, English, Korean.

Those who wish to present a paper at the conference may submit proposals as an e-mail attachment in MS Word or RTF format (for example: SmithJohn.docx) to icfks-msu@yandex.ru, the letter should be marked “Conference”.

Proposals should contain the following information:

• full name,
• academic degree (if any),
• institution,
• country and city,
• name of the supervisor,
• telephone number (preferably mobile),
• e-mail,
• subject area,
• paper title,
• summary of approximately 500–700 words (in Russian, English or Korean),
• bibliography/references.

Deadline for proposals is March 4, 2018. Materials for the conference will be selected by a special committee, notification of acceptance will be sent by March 20, 2018.

Full papers must be submitted by April 8, 2018.

The most interesting presentations may be published in the “Russian Korean Studies Herald” as separate articles.

The hosts will provide accommodation and meals during the conference for non-resident participants whose papers will be included in the conference program, as well as a partial reimbursement of transportation costs (depending on the number of participants, and the cost of travel, provided that transportation costs are not covered by the sending side) .
